By Harold Brighouse

Hobson’s Choice is a rich comedy about Maggie Hobson, straightforward and warm hearted Lancashire lass, who seizes her chance to make a lion out of her father’s lovable, but mouslike apprentice, Willy Mossop.  She marries him, makes him boss, and also organises the romances of her two sisters in the bargain.  Old Hobson, her heavy handed father, her father, has no choice in the matter.
