Park,
a new film directed by Robert Altman. According to a Times article,
Sir Derek has been cast as Michael Gambon’s manservant in the
film. for more information, go here.

Sir Derek plays the villainous Duke; Eddie Izzard plays his equally
villainous son:

Sir
Derek is also scheduled for a role in Harry Potter 2. No
word yet on the identity of his character.
Films
(In Negotiation): The Prisoner
is now in pre-production with Sir Derek and Miranda Richardson
said to be in final talks for supporting roles. Sam Neill is the frontrunner for the lead, pending
work on another project that will be completed in time.
Unsubstantiated
Intriguing Gossip: Tony Todd told SCI FI Wire that he'll be starring in
Minotaur, a fantasy film based on the Greek myth about a supernatural creature that's half bull and half man. Todd (Candyman) will star with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Derek Jacobi;
Jonathan English will direct, the actor said in an interview at the Fangoria convention in Pasadena, Calif.

Television
- Sir
Derek will join Albert Finney in A Lonely War,
written by Hugh Whitemore and produced for the BBC and
HBO. Finney, who will play Winston Churchill, and Vanessa Redgrave,
playing Churchill's wife Clemmie will be joined by Sir Derek
as Prime Minister Baldwin, Jim Broadbent as Churchill's close friend Desmond Morton, Linus Roache as Ralph
Wigram, Ronnie Barker as Churchill's manservant Inches, Hugh Bonneville as Ivo
Pettifer, Celia Imrie as Churchill's secretary and Tom Wilkinson as
Vansittart.
Filming is scheduled to start the week of 10/15/01.
Upcoming on UK television on Saturday, 10/20/2001 will be a guest appearance in Randall
& Hopkirk (deceased),
with Sir Derek playing a mad scientist in an episode entitled
“Pain Killers”.

Also
on UK television in early 2002, a mini-series (6 parts) entitled The
Jury with Sir Derek and Anthony Sher playing barristers.
Frasier
snared Sir Derek for an appearance this year in an episode titled The Show Must Go Off. Sir Derek won the Emmy for "Guest Actor in a
Comedy Series" for this episode; the ceremony, which was held
on Saturday September 8 in Pasadena, will air
September 9 on E! at 6 p.m. ET/PT, with an encore September 14 at 10 a.m.
