Plot Summary: Film of Graham Greene's spy novel about a British double agent (Williamson) who's forced to defect to Russia. When a leak in the British Secret Service is discovered in Russia, two agents become the target of the gocernment's investigation:  Arthur Davis (Derek Jacobi), a high living bachelor who's attempts at a secret rendezvous arouse the suspicions of his superiors; and Maurice Castle, who eight years earlier had defied his government by falling in love with an African woman and helping her escape to England to become his wife.  One of the men is selling secrets to the communists, but in the course of the investigation, the double agent is eliminated.  But did they kill the wrong man?  Top cast, script by Tom Stoppard;  Preminger's final film...from Amazon.com
